Untitled-1

All kindergarten children enjoy group therapy in movement, and the younger children in addition enjoy group therapy with music. The emotional team operates several groups over the year: Parents group – enables parents to share difficulties as well as dilemmas and joys and to think, deliberate, and learn together. Group of brothers and sisters of kindergarten children, being the ‘brother of’ as well as a group of grandparents who meet on special days held for them in the kindergarten over the year.

In the beginning of the school year, an introductory meeting is held between the class social worker/psychologist and the parents of each child. In this conversation, comprehensive acquaintance is made and the needs of the family are clarified, including the type of guidance required by it within the kindergarten or outside of it.

The team members divide therapeutic responsibility among themselves, between the different kindergarten classes and provide either individual or group emotional therapy to the kindergarten children who need it, and guidance to the members of their families. The method of guidance and its frequency are determined jointly with the team members of each child, and including the parents.

Siblings group

Each year, a siblings group is formed, for brothers and sisters of the kindergarten children. In this group, participants, accompanied by emotional therapists, touch on issues that concern them in connection with their siblings in the kindergarten through various means of expression such as creativity, storytelling, movement, theater, and more. Over the years in which these groups have existed, it is apparent that the sense of a common fate, the ability to share similar difficulties, and the joy experienced as part of the system in which their siblings spend their day, promote emotional growth and increase self-awareness.
