The physiotherapy team in the kindergarten specializes in therapeutic intervention for children with cerebral palsy who have posture and movement difficulties, as well as children with developmental impairment who display motor problems such as: Encumbrance, muscle weakness, low muscle endurance, coordination difficulties, processing difficulties, spatial motor difficulties, and more.
Alongside the expert physiotherapists, the team employs a rehabilitation assistant and volunteers, who apply some of the intervention plan and practice it with the children, under the professional team’s guidance.
The team’s goal is to expose each treated child to his motor skills and put these abilities into action, in order to allow him maximum independent functioning.
In the kindergarten, a broad response is given to the children’s motoric needs through individual and group treatments, as well as joint treatments with additional team members. Emphasis is placed on improving the motoric functions according to the ability of each child, on mobility, different various motoric experiences, use of games and yard fixtures, riding different kinds of bicycles and more. In addition, instruction is given to parents and staff; adjustments to equipment are made at home and in the kindergarten, orthopedic tracking in cooperation with ALIN Hospital, as well as continuous consistent tracking of leg braces for the children who need them.
The physiotherapy rooms are equipped with the best customized equipment: Ladders, trampolines, electric walkers, adjustable stairs, a climbing wall, various customized bicycles, and more. This, in addition to the variety of equipment that exists within the kindergarten and yard spaces.
