The occupational therapy team in the kindergarten strives to enable active participation and maximum independence for the kindergarten children in areas of occupation, play and recreation, in day-to-day functioning and pre-learning skills. Therapeutic intervention is provided to kindergarten children with functional difficulty in various occupational areas, in achieving mobility, in motor and sensory areas, and in visual impairment.<\/p>\n

Therapeutic intervention is performed by certified occupational therapists, a rehabilitative assistant and a volunteer, as part of individual and group treatments (for example: graphomotor group, motorized mobility group, preparation for first grade group, and more) and is scheduled in accordance with the particular needs of each and every child in the kindergarten. In addition, treatment includes giving instruction to the educational team and children\u2019s families on ways in which to promote the child\u2019s functioning, as well as environmental adjustments.<\/p>\n

In addition, the team makes house calls , as needed, takes care of arranging arm braces and seating arrangements both in the kindergarten and at home.<\/p>\n

The occupational therapy department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment including, inter alia, assistive technology devices (computers, iPads, motorized wheel chairs, virtual reality systems, and tailored games), sensomotoric equipment (swings, ladders, scooters, etc.) and a wide range of games (imagination, construction and assembly games, thinking games, and creativity games).<\/p>\n

As part of its professional creed, the occupational therapy team attributes great importance to providing solutions for the children\u2019s leisure hours. Thus, the team operates a game library for free time at home, and once a month holds a joint parents and children soccer activity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
